Microdermabrasion Facial

What is a microdermabrasion facial?
Microdermabrasion is relatively new in the beauty industry and is often called the instant facelift. The procedure includes using very minute grains to shave away the surface of the skin, which often becomes dry, flaky or hardened; this exposes the smoother, newer skin underneath, which is more supple.

What does a microdermabrasion facial involve?
The procedure is not invasive, nor does it involve the use of any harsh chemicals on the face. A fine stream of miniscule aluminium oxide crystals are sprayed through a small tool, which is applied to the skin on the face. These crystals work to exfoliate the upper layer of your skin, whilst applying suction to remove debris consisting of spent crystals and dead skin.

This results in the upper layer of rough skin being sloughed away, and fresh skin exposed, giving you a smoother, more healthy look.

Overall, the procedure is a fairly quick one, which you could easily fit into a lunch break from work, without suffering from any discomfort throughout the rest of the day. You're also able to reapply makeup not long after undergoing the treatment, so even if you do experience a little pinkness, this will soon subside, or you could cover it up.

Benefits of a microdermabrasion facial
The daily sun exposure that your face is subjected to can take its toll over the years. This can lead to wrinkles, crow's feet, acne scarring or pigmentation, among other things, all of which can affect the appearance of the face and lead to an uneven complexion. However, the good news is that all of these things can be improved or lessened through a microdermabrasion facial treatment, which is something that we offer here at Oasis Beauty Salon.

This procedure benefits your complexion by sloughing away the natural build-up of old, dead skin cells on the upper layer of facial skin, revealing healthier the layers of new skin beneath. It helps to encourage the skin's natural growth, as well as the production of new skin cells, containing much higher levels of elastin, as well as collagen. These can in turn help to reduce the appearance of scarring on the face in an entirely natural way.

After your treatment
Our customers don't generally find the procedure to be painful, though due to the way that the exfoliation works, some customers report feeling a warming, tingling sensation on the face, similar to that experienced during a massage.

You should take care of your face in the days immediately following your treatment. As you've exposed new skin, it will be more susceptible to the UV rays of the sun, so wear sunblock when going out into the sun for prolonged periods of time. Make sure that you don't use harsh face washes on your skin for several days, so that your skin has time to rest.
