Benefits of a manicure
A manicure focuses on restorative massage of the hands, as well as a reshaping and polishing of the nails. This can help to alleviate stress buildup in the hands, as well as increasing their overall appearance, giving you more confidence. The whole process is very therapeutic and can lead to an overall reduction of stress and tension throughout the body.
What does a manicure involve
A treatment typically begins with the removal of any nail polish that may already be on your nails. You may want to remove this before arriving for your treatment, but it isn't anything to worry about and we can do this for you.
Your nails will be filed and reshaped, to remove any roughness and create a more uniform appearance. There is some freedom of choice in whether you'd like square or rounded nails, depending upon your nails' natural length, or you may opt for fake nails. Your therapist can advise of whether they're long enough or likely to be prone to breakages. At this point is usually when you would have cuticle cream applied, whilst the therapist retracts and trims your cuticles (the small amount of translucent skin that grows at the base of your nails where they meet the finger). This is not an essential step and some people prefer not to have their cuticles reshaped, so you can tell your therapist if you would prefer to skip this step.
Following the reshaping and filing of your nails, your hands will be given a relaxing massage to draw out any stress and tension. This is particularly beneficial for those who work in desk-based jobs, where the hands and wrists suffer a great deal of repetitive stress from the use of computers and office equipment. A good massage can take away months' worth of stress buildup in the hands and wrists.
The final stage of the process is the styling of the nails, where you're given some choice and freedom. You'll be able to choose your style and colour, and enjoy the professional application of these polishes by our trained manicurists. We can offer advice on colour selections, as well as recommendations for skin tones. UV light is often used at this point to encourage faster drying and hardening of the nails after the final application of polish.
After your treatment
After your treatment, we recommend taking care of yourself and your hands for the rest of the day and as long as possible! Unfortunately, we all have to use our hands throughout the day, but by being careful, you can reduce the chance of chipping the polish or breaking one of your nails.
Oasis Beauty Salon has to be one of the best beauty salon in the north west by far because I always get a fantastic service for really good prices.
The facials and pedicures are done to perfection and I love the hot stone massage which is a real treat.
