Discomfort is generally quite minimal and you should quickly get used to the sensation. Any follow-up appointments that you book with Oasis should be even easier than the first, and we're sure that you'll be hooked after your first session.
We recommend that you exfoliate your skin in the area that is going to be waxed, at least a few days prior to your appointment with us. This encourage the hairs to loosen in the follicles, so that the process goes as smoothly as possible.
What is involved in a chest wax?
When your treatment begins, we will be using a wax that has been heated to bring it to a workable consistency, so it will be a warm and pleasant sensation during application.
The wax will be spread across the area of the chest that we are targeting, ensuring good coverage of all of the chest hair (unless you specify that you want a portion of hair to remain). This will be done using a spreader by one of our trained therapists.
Then, we will apply a special strip across the waxed area, ensuring good cohesion before the strip is pulled away against the direction of hair growth. This process will be repeated until all of the desired hair is removed. You may expect some redness immediately following the treatment, though our customers usually report that it is more of a stinging sensation - and only a brief one - rather than being actually painful.
After your treatment?
You're free to wear anything that you like to your appointment, however we would recommend that you have a loose-fitting, light t-shirt or shirt to wear home after your appointment with us is over. We also recommend a clean garment. Your skin will be more vulnerable for the first 24 hours or so after your wax treatment, so this will ensure that it doesn't become irritated by a closed-fitted top, as well as helping to keep the skin clean whilst it is more prone to irritation.
Just like with facial shaving, you should also be aware that there is a potential for a small amount of break out irritation after waxing, whilst the follicles and pores are temporarily exposed. However, this is entirely normal and if it does happen, it will quickly subside.
If the treatment happens to have missed any hairs, you're free to remove these with tweezers, though we would recommend leaving them until your next appointment, as pulling out singular hairs means that some may fall into different growth patterns, creating a less uniform look.
Oasis Beauty Salon has to be one of the best beauty salon in the north west by far because I always get a fantastic service for really good prices.
The facials and pedicures are done to perfection and I love the hot stone massage which is a real treat.
